while home in kampar during the recent chinese new year, the reb had a cny reunion dinner with the family. while waiting for the dishes to come, there were signs displaying the menu of the restaurant. what fun to have while waiting for the food.

many English schools people pronounce , restaurant as restoran.

so english and Bahasa malaysia sound the same.

that's the problem. many of these advertisers pick up the BM and when they do the signs in english, it comes out very much like BM version.

these signs were obviously typed by the boss' school-going children or a worker who have some studies in the government schools. phonetically, the spelling are almost 'korrect! korrect! korrect!'
